No, i figured.. after all this while, i miss blogging.
So maybe it takes away a little bit of privacy.. maybe it is about sharing your life in public.. a bit of public griping.. but who's to say it doesn't bring you a step closer to people too?
*On Weddings
I've attended quite a few weddings these past few weeks and it's all been lovely... but it does lead me to question.. as i'm sure it's the same for all of you, when exactly will i be prepared to take that leap? What exactly would i want my wedding to be like? Haha.. and which guy can i picture in it?!
Couple of take-home notes:
1) the guests will ALWAYS try to screw up the seating arrangement at dinner/lunch. Deal with it as best you can. Telling them you can't do anything to help them is not gonna give you any brownie points.. (and they'll probably move anyway!)
My 2-cents worth:
-please think carefully about seating arrangements. There should really be a system of going online and checking out ur seats before the wedding! (just like bookings on a flight, no less! :)
that way, we can allay plenty of concerns and frazzled nerves.
2) Create talking points /entertainment for your guests. My cousin chose to hire excellent singers.. definitely the highlight of the night.. coupled with the video presentation... song dedications.. it was definitely the talking point amongst guests.
Thing is.. guests just want to come to have a good time and share in your joy.. let's not make it a painful process with people mingling and putting up a brave face but precious little to say to each other.
3) The complimentary gift..perhaps chocolates are fine... but if you want your guests to truly remember your wedding.. a little momento won't hurt.. something that has a little customisation. A photo of the couple perhaps? or a photo of the couple with you!?
4) Table setting.. extra effort in the table setting never hurt. It's a small matter but can go a long way at setting the ambience :)
5) Throw in something a little different. Add that special touch to make it a truly memorable night.. Forget about the Yum Seng?!? for instance? or.... maybe.. the video presentation? WEddings are getting so.. "tried and tested" it wouldn't hurt to be a little creative.. dance? rather than sing? Something.. wouldn't hurt!
6) Lastly.. i believe both the bride as well as groom should have a little something to say at the wedding dinner.. Just a little Thank You perhaps.. (or introduction for the ppl who don't really know ya..) just goes someway in allowing your guests to feel your joy and share your happiness.
