It was in every sense of the word, my "Dream" weekend.
Like the HSBC Wall of Dreams where one's supposed self-expressed dreams are pinned on the wall, my dream weekend has seen it's fulfillment! The only big difference being the enjoyment factor isn't quite quantifiable as $50k. :p
All by a spontaneous stroke of luck, we decided to go wakeboarding!
Aison, Eunice, what can i say? I just wish i got to know you guys better when i was at UQ. FINALLY, i have an adventurous group of friends who love outdoor activities and aren't afraid to try something new! :) I love e fact that we're all in it together, in the spirit of trying something totally exciting!
LOVED wakeboarding today, though i DO have issues righting myself up and staying up. But, once you get it, the feeling is sublime.
How can i describe it? The rush is exhilirating... with the gush of wind as the boat speeds up... :)It is really quite unlike any other sport as far as i can see? Maybe it IS time to embrace the boating lifestyle , just like what Boat Asia is trying to espouse. From viewing the luxury yachts that weekend (21st April) at Sentosa Cove , to relaxing at East Coast Park on Labour Day just witnessing the amazing stunts ppl could pull off at Cable Ski 360 to the wonderful adventure of trying wakeboarding for the second time today with a bunch of great ppl... i think it's safe to say...
i'm hooked.
As i glanced at the sky aglow with the setting sun, it just brought a smile to my face thinking of the wonderful 4 plus hours we had out at sea in Punggol today.. the place is really serene so early in the morning and though the water is G.R.O.S.S i think the company and fun factor more than made up for it! Furthermore, that stretch of the water really reminded me of wakeboarding in Bris further up from the John Oxley stretch of the
Karaoke on Fri with dinner at Lemongrass and makeover before that.. haha it's been a really packed weekend alright! Oh and i had yum cha too!!! i LOVE yum cha! Some things are just great with a bunch of familiar faces :) Oh! and did i forget to mention we caught A Midsummer Night's Dream? The picnic at Fort Canning Centre was a really positive experience for me as i'm not very inclined towards catching plays for fear of finding them too abstract or just downright weird. But this Shakespeare play was directed brilliantly and managed to engage the audience with sharp wit and at times bawdy humour. I think this play is particularly successful because it is easy to relate to and really, quite a brilliant choice by Gaurav Kripalani, the director of Singapore Repertory Theatre. As mentioned in the papers today, he intended for teachers to encourage their students to grow to embrace Literature rather than leaving it aside in pursuit of excellence only in the Math and Sciences. ... As we were talking about it today, Eunice and I are in the view that it was good of our schools to ensure Lit was compulsory when we were studying. ..
Alrightie, to the week ahead!
*Night from a sun-kissed lil girl.
