my absolute favourites

Some amongst us are always waiting in the wings.
Yet others never seem to falter in taking the first move.
Who's to say which is the more successful?
Who's to know which one is "right"?
Love - it ain't about strategising.
Treat it like a business and you're doomed for failure.
Watch-...observe, learn, try, fail, breathe, take the risk.
there can be no success without even trying.

"Wait, wait for the dawn my dear
Wait till the sun gets here
And you will wait too long he will be gone
Wait, wait till the sun shines through
Wait till the sky is blue
And you will wait too long he will be gone, he will be gone

Wait, wait till the signs are right
Wait till the perfect time
And you will wait too long he will be gone, he will be gone"

Wait.
and he will be gone.
Life's like that. You can't keep on waiting.
He will be gone.

What of the ones of us who refuse to take that first move?
What of the ones amongst us who know in our hearts "This is the one!" the ones amongst us who fight every instinct although we know, we've always known that he is the one.
and yet...

And this so aptly describes how we feel day to day, to work and back from work.
Always a rush, never miss a beat, never enough rest.

"The city keeps on going.
On.

Float down the river with my Indian Jay.
Get off the boat and board a plane to JKF.
And I, ain't slept a week.
But it don't seem to matter to the subway speakers, squeak (and squeak)

The city keeps on going.
We just keep on rolling.
The city keeps on going.
We just keep on rolling.
On.

Grand Central Station and got wind they're coming down.
And the goodness yesterday.
No one round oh and I still recognize her after all these years.
And she still looks the same,
Ah, she still looks the same.
.....
Oh and we end up in Brooklyn.
It was rainin' so hard.
Come up all day.
And the rain to clear it off,
Oh we're just people watching on 3rd and St. Mormons.
And when the girl's kissing my face,
My face
She was just kissing my face.

....Just when I was sick and lonely,
There was a shaking on the ground.
We were hiding from the rain.
We were riding on the train.
Just when I was sick and lonely,
There was a shaking on the ground.
Were were hiding from the rain.
Were were riding on the train.

Distinct memories - they jar your senses sometimes. Jolt you awake. you don't want to revisit them, to go back there. Can we ever have it in us to just.. forget?

life moves on. whether you want it to or not.
No one will wait simply because no one can afford to wait.

-contemplate a life like that-
we've got to catch ourselves.
